Today is a big day for me – I am finally getting out of my own way & starting towards my financial freedom!

What does this mean? hmmm…

• I will no longer procrastinate, search the net for new ideas, that elusive “secret” to tell me how to make millions overnight,
• I will not buy another program until I have made the most of what I have,
• I will check my emails – briefly – in the morning – once – and then I will turn off my email program FOR THE DAY.

I’ve learnt over the last couple of years that if I had actually started something – anything – and stuck to it back when I first “researched” internet marketing – rather than continue to search for two years – I would have figured it all out by now and would be teaching you how to do it – rather than still learning.  I figure I have everything I need tucked away on my hard drive – so now it is time to pick one and run with it until I make or break it.

This is the beginning for me – I have an idea – I actually have a few ideas – but for today I am focused on the first phase – starting this site so you can watch me while I learn.  Now I don’t have any grand ideas that this blog is going to be seen by millions of people & I haven’t even chosen which of a hundred different systems I am going to use – but I need to be publicly accountable & this is my way of doing just that!

So – Day One is Create www.NewbiesDiary.com & publish it.

The Why…

Something I have discovered along my travels is that there are a couple of things missing out there in newbie-land…

One would be a base for newbies, somewhere you can check what works, what doesn’t, what is suited to newbies and what is for more advanced marketers, without having to spend a fortune on a program, ebook, software – only to discover that it doesn’t have what you need or want. Sure these things come with money back guarantees, but by the time you think about this the time has passed, you’ve forgotten where you got it from or a hundred other reasons why you don’t ask for your money back.

Another would have to be where to find the resources you need, list builders, traffic generators, article websites, blogs bla bla bla – the list goes on – all the things you need – or do you? Where do you find this info, what can you use for free – what do you need to pay for – what helps and what is absolute crap!

How about real success stories – not the testimonials you see in a sales page – I don’t know about you, but I love reading them – but what I’d really like to know – how long did it take them, what programs, resources etc do they use, what do they recommend, what don’t they recommend and who are their mentors.

I’ve read so many entries on forums and blogs – posts from newbies wanting mentoring and being unable to afford it, one thing they have in common is a need to ‘work’ with someone else, a like minded person, not necessarily a mentor – but someone in the same place as they are – someone who can share their successes & even their failures. I’m not saying this will work for everyone – I can’t even really decide if it’s a good idea – you have to be really careful not to get trapped in the doom & gloom of the bla bla bla that can trap you when your starting out.

So let’s see if we can get that organised here and you can tell me if it works – or not.

And one more thing – how about a place where you can suggest what you want to “research” (sorry but I really hate that word as it has been my excuse for the last couple of years – “I’m just researching the system I want to use” – really just another way of saying I’m too scared to jump!) – let me know what you want to see, what you need here as a newbie – please embrace that term – it’s a good thing!

Eventually I’ll have a forum where you can be honest about your successes and hopefully not too many failures. Where you can recommend what has worked for you and what hasn’t. Who do you recommend, who gives the most information – the best information – the best value for your dollar. Somewhere that you can say “I am stuck on ….” and you can get some free help or guidance from other members. You might be surprised to find that you know something that someone else is stuck on. You may have found the best program in the world and just have to share it.

So I’ve decided this is a place to start. Somewhere where you can be sure to get neutral advice. I’ll try products, programs, ebooks and anything else necessary – and you can watch while I do. The best part is – I’m not going to charge you to do this – not a cracker!
